Amazon Redshift is Digitail's data warehouse. Digitail Redshift is the add-on that gives a clinic (or group) read-only access to their own data in it, so they can build their own reports and BI dashboards outside of the standard Digitail product.

### How access works

1. You get a Digitail-specific Redshift login and IP whitelisting on your end.
2. Digitail creates a set of non-materialized views scoped to your clinic(s) — you never query raw tables directly.
3. From there, you own the query and report building. Digitail doesn't build or maintain reports on your behalf.

### Naming convention

Every view you're granted is prefixed with your client code, e.g. `client1_sale`, `vsrep_pet`. A small set of global reference tables (species, breeds, countries, measurement units, etc.) are shared across all clients and are **not** prefixed — see [All views](docId\:RWeIE3wRWbbe5hA1cUmH3) for the full breakdown.

### Query frequency

Views refresh on a 24-hour cycle. Please don't poll more often than once a day unless you've arranged a shorter frequency with us — contact us if your use case needs it.

### Scope of access

Digitail can't grant access to every table in the platform — some data is excluded for privacy and security reasons. The [All views](docId\:RWeIE3wRWbbe5hA1cUmH3) page is the authoritative list of what you can query. If a table you need isn't on that list, contact us; expanded access is considered case by case.
