# How Do I Get Access to the API?

Access to the Digitail API is **not automatic**.

To request access:

1. **Review the **[API Documentation](docId\:uhZkP_u_fSzA_q6r76a7u) and confirm that the **endpoints** and data you need are available. 
2. **Submit the **[API Access Request Form](https://digitail.com/api-access)**.** In the form, clearly describe: 
   - Who you are (clinic, group, or company)
   - What you plan to build
   - Why the integration is important for your workflow or clients
   - What type of data you would need
   - and the expected timeline for the integration
3. **Wait for review and approval -** all requests are manually reviewed by the Digitail team.

**If approved, you will receive:**

- Sandbox credentials
- OAuth client details (Client ID & Client Secret)
- Access to the sandbox environment
- An invite to the API Slack workspace

# How Long Does Approval Take?

Typical timelines are:

- **Confirmation email:** Immediately after form submission
- **Internal review:** it can take from 3 to 7 business days
- **Sandbox access (if approved):** Usually within 1 week

Delays may occur if:

- The use case is unclear
- Additional clarification is needed
- There is a high volume of requests
- There are security, data scope, or ecosystem concerns

**If your request is linked to mutual clinics already waiting for the integration, include that context in the form, it helps with prioritization.**

# Can I Access Data From Multiple Clinics?

Each group of clinics must:

- Explicitly authorize the integration via OAuth
- Grant access **only to their own data**

**Digitail will never issue global tokens that allow access to multiple clinic groups without individual authorization. This is a strict security and privacy requirement.**

# Is There a Cost to Use the API?

No. The Digitail API is **free to use for approved clinics and partners**.

However:

- Access is review-based
- **Digitail does not provide custom development or implementation services**
- All integration development and maintenance is handled **by your team**
